Overview

The Dodital Trek is a popular, scenic Himalayan trek in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi district, known for its emerald green lake, lush forests (oak, rhododendron, pine), and stunning views of Bandarpoonch & Swargarohini peaks from the Darwa Pass (around 13,600 ft). Considered easy-to-moderate, it’s a 6-7 day journey (40-45 km) starting from near Uttarkashi (Sangam Chatti/Kalyani), ideal for birdwatching (Monal), fishing (trout), and experiencing nature, with best seasons being April-June & Sept-Nov.

Day 01 :

Dehradun to Agoda Village (Drive 7-8 hrs; Stay overnight)

Drive from Dehradun to Agoda (or Bhebra/Sangam Chatti) via Mussoorie and Uttarkashi. The scenic drive follows the Bhagirathi and Assi Ganga rivers.
Agoda is the last village on the trek route and serves as the base camp, offering homestays or camping options.

Day 02 :

Agoda to Manjhi (Trek 8 km, 5-6 hrs)

The trail from Agoda is a mix of moderate ascents and descents through dense forests of oak, pine, and rhododendron.
The path passes the small village of Bhebra before reaching Manjhi, a summer settlement and campsite.

Day 03 :

Manjhi to Dodital Lake (Trek 5-6 km, 2-3 hrs)

Today's trek is relatively short and easy, following a picturesque trail with streams and lush vegetation.
Reach the tranquil Dodital Lake (3,024 m / 9,921 ft) by afternoon. Explore the area, visit the Ganesha temple (believed to be the birthplace of Lord Ganesha), and camp overnight by the lakeside.

Day 04 :

Dodital Lake to Darwa Top and back to Dodital Lake (Trek 10-12 km total, 5-8 hrs)

This is the summit day and involves a steep 5 km climb to Darwa Top (4,150 m / 13,615 ft).
From the top, enjoy breathtaking 360-degree views of prominent Himalayan peaks like Bandarpunch, Swargarohini, and Srikanth Peak.
Descend back to Dodital for a hot lunch and overnight stay.

Day 05 :

Dodital to Agoda (Trek 15 km, 6-7 hrs

Trek back down the familiar route to Agoda village. Being mostly downhill, it takes less time than the ascent.
Spend the night in a homestay or camp in Agoda.

Day 06 :

Day 6: Agoda to Dehradun (Drive 7-8 hrs)

After breakfast, board a vehicle for the drive back to

Dehradun, marking the end of the trek.
